History of Marentech

Dr. Marentette established Marentech in Germany in 2001, then relocated Marentech to Canada in 2005. Marentech has provided patent research services to clients in North America and Europe, including patent attorneys, law firms, and large corporations in the plastics and fibers industries, as well as other IP service companies. Dr. Marentette is fluent in English, German and French.

Dr. Marentette has also provided expert witness services in U.S. trade secret litigation in the plastics industry.


Industrial Experience

Dr. Marentette managed intellectual property for a global top-3 international nonwovens manufacturer in Germany. She also carried out product development of nonwovens for use in hygiene products and provided critical technical support for the development and commercialization of microporous film-nonwoven composites for use in hygiene, medical, technical and industrial products.

Prior to working in the nonwovens industry, Dr. Marentette led the development of new forms of hygiene products for a leading U.S.-based global consumer products company in Germany.
 

Academic Qualifications

Dr. Marentette was an Alexander von Humboldt Fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research in Mainz, Germany during 1996-97, where she led a new research program on polymer-controlled engineering of small molecule crystals.

Dr. Marentette obtained her Ph.D. on the crystallization of polymers in blends at McGill University in Montreal, Canada in 1995. She was the recipient of 17 university awards and scholarships.
